With a background as an engineer in metal, rock, grunge, indie, and jazz, coupled with a degree in audio engineering from HOFA Gmbh (Germany), I bring a versatile skill set to the table. This is a book I wrote about the recording and mixing of a band or individuals. It is a compilation
of guidelines for the process of recording and mixing music in a band setting.
It was created for people who already have a basic to intermediate understanding of a recording and
mixing process.
It aims to improve your workflow by calling out common settings, tips and tricks.
Every instrument and channel-setting is described in a logical order as done in professional music
studios.
It can be kept next to you on the mixing desk to reference a specific setting of a compressor, the
frequency character of an instrument,
or just a handy tip.
Although it is impossible to create a generalized approach to good music production,
there are certain techniques and methods that will help you to achieve better results and are a great
start to mix from.
